Dans le cadre de sa visite en Égypte, M. Antoine Petit était accompagné par Marie Gaille (directrice de CNRS SHS) et des directeurs scientifiques adjoints, Stéphane Bourdin et William Berthomière.
Samedi 17 mai, après une réunion avec les partenaires égyptiens, ils ont participé à l’inauguration de l’exposition « Karnak Golden Jewellery » (organisé par le CFEETK en partenariat avec le Musée de Louqsor) en présence du Dr. Mohamed Ismael Khaled, secrétaire général du SCA et de nombreuses autres personnalités.
Dimanche 18 mai, ils ont visité plusieurs chantiers dans Karnak : la fouille dans le Musée de plein-air puis les derniers travaux dans l’Akhmenou ainsi que dans la cour de la Cachette avant d’échanger avec l’ensemble de l’équipe. Cette dernière visite s’est faite en présence du Dr. Mohamed Abdel Badia (directeur du département des antiquités pharaoniques, SCA-MoTA), du Dr. Hany El-Tayeb (directeur du Comité Permanent, SCA-MoTA) et du Dr. Abdelghaffar Wagdy (directeur des Antiquités de Louqsor, co-dir. du CFEETK).
The CFEETK was very pleased to welcome a delegation from the CNRS led by its CEO, Dr. Antoine Petit, this week, along with Dr. Marie Gaille (Director of CNRS SHS) and Deputy Scientific Directors Dr. Stéphane Bourdin and Dr. William Berthomière.
On Saturday 17 May, after a meeting with Egyptian partners, they attended the opening of the “Karnak Golden Jewellery” exhibition (at the Museum of Luxor) in the presence of Dr Mohamed Ismael Khaled, Secretary General of the SCA (MoTA), and many other officials.
On Sunday 18 May, they visited work sites in Karnak: in the Open Air Museum, in the Akhmenou temple and also in the Cachette courtyard, before meeting with the CFEETK team. This visit at Karnak was organised in the presence of Dr Mohamed Abdel Badia (Head of the Pharaonic Antiquities Department, SCA-MoTA), Dr Hany El-Tayeb (Director of the Permanent Committee, SCA-MoTA) and Dr. Abdelghaffar Wagdy (general director of Luxor’s Antiquities and co-director of CFEETK).
