Cette trouvaille a tout d’abord été annoncée par le ministère du Tourisme et des Antiquités le 28 février dernier. This volume is dedicated to the memory of Mohamed Al-Saghir, the renowned finder of the cache of statues in Luxor Temple, and Michel Azim, CFEETK’s archaeologist and architect.
It also includes 22 other articles: including reports on recent CFEETK activities at Karnak (restoration of the Tut’s statue of Amun, excavations in the Middle Kingdom courtyard, etc.), publications of monuments or objects and several studies.
This volume is currently available online on the CFEETK website, and the paper version will soon be printed.
The French-Egyptian Centre for the Study of the Temples of Karnak (CFEETK- MoTA/CNRS) is pleased to announce a new symposium to be held in Luxor on the 7th and 8th of February 2025: the Preservation and Transmission of Archeological Heritage symposium (PTAH). The conference will take place at the Mummification Museum in Luxor.
A Call for Communications is now open to all Egyptian and international conservators working in the Theban valley (and other professionals whose work is related to conservation).
To submit your communications, please send us by e-mail a title, an abstract of 300 words maximum and the chosen theme (see the call for communications pdf for further informations) by the 14th of August 2024 at ptah.symposium@gmail.com.
Communications will be held in English and is limited to 20 minutes ; proposals for posters are also welcomed (guidelines to be provided).

“Conducting Scientific Research in Egyptology: Tools and Methods”
Training workshop 17-19 September 2023 — Karnak, Luxor
The CFEETK, with the participation of the Ifao, will organise a training workshop on tools and methods used by Egyptologists from 17th to 19th September 2023. This workshop will take place at the library of the CFEETK in Karnak (Luxor).
It is intended for inspectors with a bachelor’s degree who wish to continue their academic studies (master or beginning of doctorate studies) in Egyptology.
The lectures will be given in English by a panel of Egyptian and French Egyptologists.
Programme:
— Learning scientific tools: presentation of the main encyclopaedias and tools available in libraries, digital tools and databases, etc. (with a focus about Karnak area).
— Conducting scientific research: defining and delimiting a subject, identifying sources, bibliographical research, etc.
— Sharing your research: giving an oral presentation, knowing the international scientific standards for publishing an article, etc.
The third day will be devoted to visiting the CFEETK archaeological projects within the Karnak precinct, with its two directors, and discovering the different stages of the scientific work.

The organizing committee (drs Ahmed Al-Taher, Amira Fawzy, Jérémy Hourdin and Matthieu Vanpeene) and the whole TAM team thank all the participants and those who attended this event. It was two fantastic days with very interesting lectures about the archaeology in Luxor.
The CFEETK also thanks its partners, first of all the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and the Mummification Museum, but also the LabEx ARCHIMEDE, the French Embassy, the Institut français d’Égypte, as well as the IFAO for the support given to this event.

Récemment, le CFEETK (CNRS-MoTA) a achevé la restauration de la célèbre statue de Toutânkhamon dédiée au dieu Amon-Rê dans le grand temple de Karnak. Celle-ci fut découverte et remontée par George Legrain en 1912. En 2019, suite à la demande du SCA/MoTA, le CFEETK (CNRS/MoTA) a mis en oeuvre la nouvelle restauration, longtemps attendue, de cette magnifique statue. Nos équipes ont dans le même temps reconstruit une partie du mur des Annales de Thoutmosis III et restauré la statue voisine de la déesse Amonet.
